Narrative
Scrap 8 from chest - transcription
I am of the opinion that the children of Wm Cambridge & Ann Hollester who survived them, took the estates comprised in the settlement of 1744 by purchase, and therefore as Mary Cambridge who upon the death of the other children became seised of the intirely, died seised the estates descended to her Heir exparte paternal, who appears to be Wm Cambridge the present possessor. Had these children taken by descent, then the estates on the death of Mary Cambridge, would have descended to her Heir exparte maternal, but under the Settlement the children became purchasers, and the estates thereby acquired a new heritable quality, and became inheritable to their Heirs general, first of the paternal and then of the Maternal line. The trustee of the Term will of course stand a trustee for Wm Cambridge the person now in possession.
